6 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate
4 squares unsweetened chocolate (use Baker's chocolate for both)
3/4 cube of butter
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups toasted chopper walnuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Melt the chocolate with the butter and stir until smooth.
Stir in the sugar until well blended. Mix in the eggs and vanilla.
Mix in the flour, salt, and baking powder. The dough will be very soft.
If adding the chopped walnuts, toast them on a cookie sheet for about 8-10 minutes and add them to the dough now. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons on to an ungreased cookie sheet about 1 1/2 inches apart.
Bake for 12 minutes and watch them carefully. Cool for 5 minutes on cookie sheet and cool completely on wire racks.
